After the victim was unable to testify against him, Corradi was able to plead guilty to endagering the welfare of a child. The original charge was aggravated sexual assault. He would have faced 20 years had he been convicted of that charge.

Everett Sheppard, 22, of Newark charged in baby's death and sexual assault
The 22 year old Newark man has been arrested and and charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. The 10 month old baby girl was found in cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
