Clayton Ellington gets Death for murdering wife, twin sons

On May 17, 2006, Police were called to a DeKalb County home and found 31 year old Berna Ellington and her two year old twins who had been beaten to death with the claw end of a hammer.

Clayton Ellinton first told authorities that he had come home and found the three bodies. He later
changed his story and said that he had killed his wife after she killed the children.

A Jury didn't believe his story. He has been convicted of murder and sentenced to death. At his sentencing, he was assaulted by his murdered wife's cousin in the courtroom.

U.S. Supreme court denies Georgia death row inmate, Troy Davis, a new hearing


Troy Davis was convicted of the 1989 murder of Mark MacPhail, a Savannah, Georgia police officer. MacPhail was shot while trying to intervene in an altercation outside a convenience store. 

Davis was scheduled to die on September 23, but his execution was halted by a stay two hours before he was to be put to death.
